We've booked a trip to Desire, which will be our first. We've been to Hedo II several times, and Hedo III a few times before it shut down (we loved Hedo III).
For those that have been to both (Hedo and Desire), which resort do you prefer, and why?
Also, any tips for making it a great vacation would be appreciated.

Thanks. Hedo has been upgrading the resort pretty aggressively over the last few years. We’re eager to experience Desire first hand.
Are you going to Desire Riviera Maya or Pearl? We’ve been to hedo and to Pearl. Pearl is much smaller than hedo so it really depends on the crowd there. We loved hedo but prefer Pearl. It’s much nicer, more intimate, cheaper for us, and easier to get to flight wise. We’ve heard that Desire Riviera Maya is like Pearl just larger with more people. Enjoy your trip, very jealous!!!

We have been to Desire “Riviera Maya” and had a blast! When we were there we also heard from those who had been to both RM & Pearl and they said Maya was larger and more lively. We were there over last Halloween. When are you going?
We’re going in mid September. We were at Hedo last month, which is when we normally go.
What did y’all use for a transfer from the airport to the resort? It looks like a fairly short ride and the resort has options ranging from $100-$115, which seems pretty ridiculous. In contrast, we pay about $35 each for the 90 minute ride from Montego Bay to Hedo.

Taxis and transfers are expensive in the Cancun/Rivera Maya area. Desire uses a nice transfer service (usually and they've changed several times ove the years) and it's a much nicer ride than a taxi, usually it's a Cadillac Escalade they pick you up in. You can book directly with the transfer company as well and ask for beers and they'll have cold beers on ice. It's looks like a 20 minute drive but it's usually more like 30 minutes. If you want to see Desire Pearl you can book a day pass and the taxi is like $40 to get there for a day.

We've been to both Pearl and Maya and found that Pearl is a little nicer, smaller (which we liked) and quieter. Of course it depends on the crowd. Both are very nice; it just depends what you want. Which ever one you go to, you can get a day pass to the other and check it out. We've been to Pearl twice and can't get enough (we'll be going again in the fall). Transfers through the resort are easy and safe.

We are on the Bliss Cruise in Movember, and are on a day excursion to Hedo. Our first time! Very excited. While we have never been to Desire, we do frequent Temptation, and wanted to plug USA Transfers in Cancun. Affordable rates. Private transfers. (Not stuck with people going to a bunch of different hotels). Beer in the cooler when you get in the van.
