My friend Shannon and I are heading to Lava this weekend. I am curious if there are any hotels/lodging that people would recommend? Input appreciated.

The Riverside Hot Springs Inn is a really nice old hotel with semi private tubs.you can hear the occupants of adjoining rooms having sex if they happen to be doing that which could lead to meeting new friends
We will be up there the following weekend
We usually stay at the lava inn. It's run down but if you get the blue house it's got two rooms a full kitchen and private. It's on the property with the pools and it's a house with 2 rooms so you could have a house party of sorts.
We stay at the little motel that is just across the river from he public pools. The third room from the river has two queen beds and a huge hot tub in the living room.
The Mrs and I skip lava accommodation s altogether and stay in a beautiful hotel in Mccammon just a 15 min drive away, right as you get off the freeway. The couple who runs it took and old City block and turned it into an amazing hotel with beautiful rooms and amazing beds. Highly recommend. http://www.theharknesshotel.com
Lions gate manor has themed rooms.

That's where we ended up staying. The rooms were good, but the best part was the Blue moon bar
Tumbling Water has always been a fav for me/us. Directly across the street from the State Hot Pools. Nice river in back to sit and enjoy. It seems though that the place is taking a bit of a dive lately. The Lava Spa Motel is directly on the other side of the river...just a typical Motel but a little updated over Tumbling Waters.... Up the street a half of a block are the new (2 yrs old) KOA cabins. A bit pricy butt very nice inside ... back deck overlooking river....etc
