They don't describe what the study was really about or define the terms used. For example; they use the term "consensual non-monogamy" and "Non-Monogamous" as tho' they are interchangeable terms, they're not.
The quote "About 5 Percent of Americans Are Non-Monogamous" is absolute non-sense unless they're really talking about consensual non-monogamy, even then I think it's low. Another study claims 30-60% of American have Non-Monogamous sex, it's just the spouse doesn't know. My guess is 5% is low for consensual non-monogamy especially if you count all the spouses who pretend they don't know.

Agreed. If we are going to error in our speculations, let's do it optimistically. Let's say 75% of all married Americans fuck six to eight people a year with their spouse's full knowledge and approval. We might as well send out those positive vibes.
We are in Salt Lake part time but our experiences there have led us to believe swingers here are much more receptive to actually meeting up and acting on being swingers. Not sure of the statistics but both of us were previously married for over 20 years and neither of us cheated or played around. Data gathering for a study like this has got be difficult, most people do not admit they are consensually non monogamous. Many more just cheat on their significant others.
