Swingers Forum - First steps -- club?

Wife and I are finally ready to take some baby steps.

Typical kind of thing where I (the M) am wanting to dive in to full swap immediately, and she is (wisely) very cautious and wants to go slow.

We brainstormed various ideas and the thing she feels comfortable starting with is a swinger's club type place where you have sex with each other and others are having sex, they watch you, you watch them, kind of thing. Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about this, but my understanding is that these places exist. She was thinking maybe a trip to Vegas for this.

We are mid 40's professional, conservative, and very integrated into an LDS community, so I think she is thinking farther away the better, at least at first. So maybe that is why the Vegas thing appealed to her. Also, I think she is not ready for the social aspect of any of this, ie getting to know other couples in real life, so the idea of a club where everything is anonymous appeals.

However, after a little bit of research, it seems the Vegas clubs might not be a very satisfying experience, in terms of matching with our dream expectations as far as a large number of other attractive, fit couples being in attendance.

There appears to be local parties that look fun. Salt Lake might be enough of a distance for her. Would local parties be an experience that would meet her needs for a very safe, non-scary, private setting (ie not forced to make small talk with others if she doesn't want to), non-intimidating first step where we could do some anonymous same room and get each other off and enjoy the view?

She is thinking that if this first step goes well, that she'll be ready for more steps.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks Oldcowboy.
All good advice,.... although we've never been to a local group function. So, IF, you still want to go somewhere outside Northern Utah, you could go to the Palm Springs area and get an afternoon evening pass (we actually had an afternoon couples message and stayed until about 11PM) at Sea Mountain Inn (SMI). Go when it's less crowded (Mon - Thur). That was our first experience and it was a fun getaway. The people we spoke with who were staying there, loved it. Google it. Have fun.
