Swingers unnerve families at hotel - - i agree if the media changed the facts of the story, but i am sorry i don\'t agree with the post right above mine who was at the party and said that the kids were suppose to be in bed past midnight. I am 28 and male and if i was the 15 year old kid, i would have gotten a kick out of it, but i agree with him that it would be uncomfortable had i been with an 11 year old sister or with my parents...i mean i would have wanted to look but would have been embarrassed around the family...none of us should be telling paretns what time their kids should be going to bed on new years eve. when i was a kid, i would be out with my parents till 1 or 2 in the morning...i don\'t think we should be condoning the parents of those kids. I think the fault is completely at the hands of the hotel. they knew the swingers were going to be there, they shouldn\'t have had the soccer family there too, considering they had the party last year too and knew well in advance what was planned. I love swing parties, house nad clubs and otherwise, but i don\'t think we should blame parents for not having their kids in beds. the hotel should have warned the families...especially knowing that there would be a glass atrium that the swing party would be in...

Are we really as judgmental as vanilla people? - - Yes, unfortunately some swingers are as judgemental or even worse than our vanilla counterparts. After taking a break for some time, Jen and I decided to get back in the swing of things. We have recently moved from California to Ohio due to me (Mike) being in the military. Strangely enough, we have found more judgemental people out here than were in CA. At a party that we were at, one of the guests actually came up to Jen and said some mean things about her because of her weight. We ended up leaving early anyway, due to bad weather and a drive home. This discussion came up in another forum of a website that we also belong to as well. Just because we're swingers doesn't mean you have to play with somebody you don't find attractive, but you can at least be nice to that person.

Inconsiderate - Lack of consideration for others - Then perhaps you should edit your post, MAUI, to say that "the vast majority of people in the lifestyle THAT WE'VE ENCOUNTERED IN THE EXTREMELY SMALL GROUP OF SWINGERS ON MAUI are super shallow and don't give a crap about others". Maybe it's just Hawaiian people in general who are super shallow and don't give a crap about others. Or maybe just people on Maui. I'm really sorry your swinging experiences haven't met your expectations. And believe it or not I'm not trying to rip you a new one. I genuinely feel badly for you. Have you explored other options? Travel, obviously. How about other swing websites? Swingular is big here in Utah (it was started here) but there are few members almost everywhere else except Florida. And the part about Maui being family oriented...have ya HEARD about Utah? LOL A very wise swinging couple once told US that the way to be successful in swinging is to first get rid of you expectations (so you won't be disappointed) and then to approach each situation and couple looking FOR reasons to connect and play rather than looking for reasons not to. I'm not saying play with peeps you aren't attracted to or are not compatible with but far too often it seems swingers look for reasons WHY this or that couple isn't perfect and they end up being disappointed that they can't find anyone to play with. Try some different websites. Host some meet n greets. Hell, host a house party and invite people similar to yourselves. Just a few thoughts. Good luck.

Why so much hate in the swingers world... - - I am saying that that logic doesn't justify intolerance. My analogy is logical. It's you that can't distiguish the meaning or ok in society, where it's impairative that we all get along to coexist safely and will our freedom intact. The majority say that swinging is wrong. Yet here you are. It is the KKK's opinion that blacks are monkeys and subhuman, does that make it socially acceptable? You're saying it's ok to be racist and or intolerant. -D-

Obama's Roadtrip - -
Fair enough. Then why rely on them for anything that likely wasn't adequately studied?
Likely just does not do it for me...When the numbers are given AND shown how they were gathered, I tend to believe they are fairly accurate.
Let's take your Pepsi/Coke example. There is likely nothing befuddling about your scenario. Just one possibility: Where are the two Florida products bottled? Maybe it's the water.
Both bottled locally, it is chalked up to being a preferance thing. In WI, lived there for a while, it was called pop or soda, unless a VERY specific thing was needed, a Mountain Dew for instance. In the south, it is a Coke no matter what it is. If someone in the south offers a Coke, it could be Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Diet Rite, Sam's Club Soda, etc.
I'm glad you agree with the logic. My Bachelor's is in Social Welfare (Psych Minor). Human nature is only a bitch of a thing when you get out there a few standard deviations. The bulk of us are as predictable as rats.
Believe it or not, I have 2 BA's (econ and int. rel.) with a minor in social work. So I am very aware of social science standards and SOME believe that we're predictable. If you have a smaller sample, we are fairly predictable, especially when the sample is taken from a specific group of people (swingers for instance, better yet, swingers in a specific region), once you get to the larger populations (nationwide for instance), human behavior is not easily quantified. Try being the ONLY conservative in all the social work classes, it was fun! Then again, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
I propose that as an economist you are simply looking at things with a limited perspective.
Possibly, but I also have a rare ability to look at it from an outsider's view....
There is simply no question that if a person's basic needs (food and shelter) are met, there is less motivation to risk the consequences of violating societal rules.
I can see the logic of this, however, we are Americans, we always want MORE, we are constantly bombarded with images of MORE, we are constantly told that without MORE we are incomplete, etc. What are the consequences of violating societal rules? Food, shelter, clothing, TV, etc? Really tough there. Look at prisons in Mexico, if your family does not provide, you starve, more than likely. THAT is consequences, it is a deterrant (sp?). IMHO, one of the reasons for our increased crime rates is the lack of public punishment. If every time you turned around, you saw a group of people in black and white stripes mowing lawns, trimming trees, etc. on the side of the road in leg chains, it would cut crime considerably. If they did public executions, it would cut crime dramatically. Then again, I am a staunch supporter of heavy penalties for crimes, especially when they are repeat offenders, most of the social scientists are not. They want more rehab and such, which I also support, BUT only for first timers, not for repeat offenders. Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying our debate... Next!

"Black Ring" or other Lifestyle insignia? - - we use to sell the bracelets at the meet and greets but not that many people bought them... I think that when it comes to meeting new couples and thinking that you are turning them into swingers (not really the case) turns some people on so they don't want to be labeled.... If that makes sense?

Swingers In Uniform - Pay your memorial day respects here. - Well Mr. Juan has shown his true colors. Not only is he a coward, he is a conspiracy theorist. The liberal propaganda has spoken to his inner being. It's told him that big brother is out to get him. Now he's a paranoid piece of shit trying to get fellated by my dead mother's corpse. Yeah dumbass she died in 1998. So, unless you dug her up in Oregon (i see you're in MD), I think you got the wrong corpse. As far as your liberal banter goes regarding the US and it's evil conspiracies, get a life douche bag!!! If you know of a better place to live, I'll send you bus, train, plane ticket or maybe you can swim there. Wait, isn't that what people are doing to GET HERE????? Let's take a pole.... Who Thinks Mr. Quixote's "The Legend in his own mind" has the right idea of what a hero is? It's easy for you to sit in your warm and cozy jack shack, you dickless single loser, and tell me what mindless bullet magnets we are, but all we see before us is the mindless rantings of a coward, lacking the fortitude, honor, integrity, and courage it take to protect what you take for granted. With that being said, you can take your rants, small dick and delusions of grandeur to Canada or France you dickless worm. D&T "Freedom is not FREE!"

Swingers In Uniform - Pay your memorial day respects here. - ohh boy! i see Don Juan has polluted this string as well. check out his heartfelt comments on the 911 string. sad.......
