Our condolences. As for your problem with swinging is concerned, I think it is that you are single. Most people have a hard time getting couples to come if there are single males allowed. This is been our experience. We are from the Pacific Northwest too and The clubs like the Ace of Hearts in Portland have nights dedicated to single guys and the couples interested.
While I think "swinging" is open for anyone's involvement, the majority has always and will most likey always be couples. Most couples don't entertain single males. Those that do, should have the right to do so. However, the majority of us don't. While you maybe one of the exceptionally polite and respectful single males that are few and far between (in our experience), most people do not want to ruin their night being bombarded by single males and most will decline to come.
Have you ever thought of bringing a date to the party? You should know that most people like things even. Try bring a date. If you are trying to remount the horse in the swinging scene you are making a mistake. Try normal dating. Trying to change the way people think because your life suddenly changed and took a turn for the worse probably won't do any good. Whether people admit it or not, swinging is a couples thing. If you want to better your chances of success with swingers, you have to play the game. Bring a date. That's best way to put it.

Swingers at work... - - I,male, work for the worlds largest retailer, guess who. I have found at least 3 people in every store I have worked in that are in the lifestyle. We have all had a lot of fun with it and to my knoweldge nobody has had a problem working with a "playmate".
How far are you willing to travel ? - - We've had kisses blown to us and I will generally answer with a note but have, as yet, not received our first answer. Most are quite far away and their profile, like yours says that you would like to be friends and hang out with as well as..... (Not exactly what you said but that's what I got out of your profile) If people are like us, we would travel up to 1 to 1.5 hours to meet or to play because that, to us, is a reasonable distance to have a friendship. If we were to meet someone at one of the clubs that we belong to, and became friends we might travel farther/further. If one believes that to travel a greater distance than would be practicle for friendship then that distance would set the limit. On the other hand, if a couple is out strictly for the sexual encounter and has no expectation or wish for friendship then maybe a stop over in a city on the other side of the country might not be out of the question...
If someone sends a kiss and the couple respond it would be nice if that couple would acknowledge receipt of a note. Just common courtesy. On another site we have been invited, by a number of folks, to stop by if we ever get in the area for drinks, dinner, play what have you,,,simply because we participate in forums and we may send a note about their profile or their pictures or both... So ultimately it depends on the couples involved.. If someone were to cum here for a week or more and wish to meet and see what happens then that might be an acceptable situation. LDS Swingers Survey - Will any former/active LDS swingers take my survey? - So, I've heard of Salt Lake City as being described as one of the most active swinger communities. So, obviously there are quite a few active and former Latter Day Saints who are swingers. I'm a bit of a data nerd so I'd love to find out more (we are recent ex-mormons and are new swingers).

Vegas Jan 14-16 - Any sugestions on clubs or parties? - vegas can be a realy great experiance. just remember its not all about the strip.
the best way to experiance it is to get a rental car.to much to see walking, there are some great shows to see that are free. we saw mat king for just a two drink minamum, and you get to keep the glass. wish we had been swingers when we went out there. we stayed at the luxor and had a great time. had a very sexy blonde try to pick-up mr cpl in the pool. had to take him upstairs to remind him who he was with. enjoy your time out there.
